Taylor Swift and Kanye West feud online, China’s social media responds

On Sunday night, Taylor Swift's fans on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, were surprised to find that the singer had been exposed on popular US social media platforms for being less than truthful over comments made over whether or not she had known about Kanye West's verse, which imply that Swift owes her fame and popularity to West, in his 2016 single, 'Famous'.

A video recorded by West's equally famous wife, socialite Kim Kardashian-West, showing a phone conversation between West and Swift was posted on her SnapChat account, and was soon circulated around Twitter.

It wasn't long before the video was spread throughout social media platforms all over the world, and soon enough fanbases of everyone involved took sides, and the war began. It wasn't long before Swift's fans in China caught wind of the exchange, thanks to a statement made on her official Weibo account. After hearing the news, Chinese fans rushed to support their celebrated singer.
